CMS Migration

Welcome back from the long weekend. CMS looks different today, and here's why.

We've been running CMS for nine years. The software underneath it got old enough that we couldn't keep updating it. An upgrade would have meant installing a newer version of what we already had, the way you update an app on your phone. That option ran out so we had to rebuild a new system and moved everything into it: every user, contact, and case. Same data and similar interface, but an entirely new structure underneath.

A few things to know:

  • Bugs and rough edges. With a change this size, some issues are unavoidable. Please report anything you run into through the support form.
  • We triage by impact. Anything blocking your ability to see client information or logging your work, these issues will get prioritized.
  • Visual changes. We're still adjusting layouts and labels. Things may move around throughout the week.
  • The court tracking calendar is not there. We've set it aside while we reassess how it was being used. Court tracking data can still be accessible via referral forms and inside the contact tabs.
  • We're working on better ways to share data across the system. More on that soon. Expect more features to come in the coming weeks.

While we're rebuilding, it's a good time to ask for things. If there's something you've wanted CMS to do, or something that's always annoyed you, send it over to Sonia or use the support form to report it. We're keeping a list.

Thanks in advance for your patience this week. Below is what's in the queue and where each item sits.
